The Only Way Forward is to Turn Back: A Call for Repentance!

So many unusual events have happened this year, and it is still not over. For those with spiritual eyes, we are seeing the unfolding of events prophesied millennia ago. 

Jesus Christ Himself said:

"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:6-8

Worldwide there is turmoil, persecution of Christians, untold evil against people of all nations, fires raging, starving children, sexually exploited people, narcissistic leaders in governments, and every kind of evil work. 

There is not enough room to write about all of these, just turn on your news and you will be able to see what is happening across the globe.

This is not new. 

Ever since Adam and Eve chose to believe in the lie of Satan, mankind has been committed to self-destruction. In different ways and different times, we have chosen diverse tools of destruction, nonetheless, we seem to be filled with hatred against life. 

Even though we severed our lifeline to the only Living GOD, He sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to re-establish this connection. Yet we refuse to take this lifeline and enjoy fellowship with our Heavenly Father and Creator. We have dedicated time and resources (given to us by HIM might I add) to disprove His existence. 

We blaspheme His name. 

We have removed Him from our land.

We have even removed Him from our Churches!

Politicians are of no help, despite the millions spent on electing new ones and the numerous lies we hear from them and choose to believe. They are only men, mostly evil, greedy and ruthless men. Mankind has no answers!

Policies and laws do not deter violence or wrongdoing, in fact, we are seeing no decrease in crime despite the numerous prisons and rehabilitation programs we employ. 

There is no place to go except to GOD Almighty. We must plead the cause of our families, nations, and futures with the only One who can help. 

Yahweh. I AM that I AM. Jehovah.

We need a reset back to factory settings. We need to cry out for our lands, for our children, for our very souls. The end is not yet and the sorrows have only begun.

So how can these things be God's grace? How could anyone make such a statement?

Because we have hope! 

As long as we are breathing and we can turn from our ways, there is hope. As long as there are trials and tribulations, we are able to change.

In fact, it is trials and tribulations that often give us the opportunity to reflect on our behaviors and see where we can possibly improve.

When something does not go right, we should take the time to see what the issue could be. When the check engine light comes on in our vehicles, only a fool ignores it. Anyone with sense would investigate so that the car will continue to work properly.

We have a chance to go to GOD and ask Him to show us where we can make improvements. 

He is not a dictator or an angry deity in the sky. If He were, we would surely be destroyed. 

WE CAN STILL REPENT!

As Christians, we are not without comfort. We have an opportunity to lean into Christ and rely on the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth just as the apostles did when Christ ascended. 

We also have the opportunity to introduce a hopeless generation to the life-giving, soul-altering presence of Jesus Christ. We are not without hope!

Is there anything positive we can glean from all that is going on? YES!

These things are a direct result of mankind's refusal to bow to our Creator. Instead of thanking GOD, we actually blame Him. Instead of asking for help, we falsely accuse Him. Like our earthly father and mother, we have decided to believe the lies of our enemy and hide from GOD.

We cannot hide and we need His help. He is willing to help, but we must ask!

Let me pose a question to the skeptic that may have stumbled upon this post.

What would you say if someone tried to make you believe that the iPhone was a random act? What would you say if someone tried to convince you that the intelligent design of the smartphone was a result of millions of years of random acts?

All of the components needed to operate the phone correctly just happened to come together in such a way that Siri and Google Maps just randomly came to be?

Would you laugh? Would you try to convince the person otherwise?

Would you get angry that the person seemed to be speaking to you as if you had no understanding?

Yet, we as a society want to believe a lie that our world, universe, and entire living existence was the result of random acts. Proper proportions of oxygen came together with hydrogen and nitrogen and other important elements needed for survival - randomly!

We go about our lives believing a lie. Refusing to accept that there is a Designer. 

There is a GOD. There is someone who put this entire thing in motion. 

GOD is not mocked nor can He lie. Every godless thing we have sowed, we will reap. 

When we close our eyes for the last time, we will meet the Living GOD. 

We will have to account for our behavior, our choices, our lives. Nothing can keep us from judgment nor can we change the date that this meeting takes place! 

Hell is a real place and it is enlarged daily. 

For Believers, these times did not come out of nowhere, and we are aware of what The LORD is planning to do.

 We can stand in the gap for those who have not come to Christ yet, and we can pray for souls to come into the Body of Christ daily!

Our Ark is the Word of GOD, the Body of Christ. 

These afflictions - coronavirus, earthquakes, fires, lawlessness, hatred, bigotry, racism, pain, sickness and diseases - do not have to be in vain. Like Abraham, we can cry out to the Lord for mercy on behalf of our families, our nation, our world, we can be saved. We can ask the Living GOD to turn hearts back to Him, to open blind eyes, and heal deaf ears.

There is a harvest of souls that await the manifestation of GOD's children.

Heavenly Father, you are Holy and righteous. We have sinned and turned our backs on your ways and ignored your commandments. 

We ask you for forgiveness. We change our minds and repent from the apathy, hatred, and unholy lifestyle we have pursued. 

We lift up our hearts and nations to you and ask you for mercy for ourselves, our families, and our nations in Jesus' name.

By faith, we trust in your Word and make a decision to pursue You and your ways every day. In Jesus' name we pray - Amen!
