Encourage Yourself in The Lord

Mindset is crucial at all times, but most especially during adversity. It is in these times that we are really able to see what is within us and what needs to be removed.

While going through a particularly stressful season, I could feel the Holy Spirit within me reminding me of who HE was and who I am in HIM. 


So, I began to write and encourage myself in the LORD, here's what it says:

What can I say about the LORD?
His ways are unknowable
His love will make you want to know him more!
You can never escape when He chooses you to save
Though you won't understand His ways
Surrender anyway
Open up your heart
That's a good place to start
For Him to enter in 
And turn your losses into wins

First, He will open your eyes to all of Satan's lies
He will help you understand the secret to be wise
Found in His Holy Word & not in universities & books
You'll find His wisdom, you just have to know where to look

Things you thought you knew, you'll begin to question
Like how you should live & how to enter Heaven
It's not by "good behavior" or being a "good person"
Transformation is what must take place for your salvation to be certain
It's not how good you think you are or your church attendance
Rather your obedience, humility & willingness to listen


He compels you to strive for the eternal reward
And you'll only have a chance if you pick up your Sword
The Word, The Way, The Truth & The Life
That's what you'll need to conquer this life of strife

So pick up your Word and pray every day
Because satan is always looking for souls to slay
If you won't stay in your old life of sin, he tries another way
To entangle you again or make you turn away

Don't get it twisted, Jesus Christ gave us the keys to succeed
We do not have to beg, cry or plead
His arms are open for whosoever will come
And His love envelopes and guides you safely into His Kingdom

Unclean, bewildered, angry and sad
These are old traits that all of us had
But we don't have to live with these spirits anymore
His salvation, grace, and deliverance are for sure

So keep your head low & and your prayers plentiful
Be slow to speak and quick to forgive
Open to Love & Grateful to live
Trials will come and tribulations too
It's how you trust GOD that will affect you

The Names Of God in The Old Testament

God as we know Him has always been and always will be. He has no beginning and no end. His wisdom is shown throughout the cosmos and our home, planet Earth.  When Moses was called by God to go deliver the children of Israel, he asked God who should He say sent him?  God replied, "I AM." He further explained that He was " I AM that I AM." Seems kind of weird for a name, right? After the Israelites were delivered, they wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. During this time, I AM revealed who He was by what He did.  God revealed who He was by what He did.  If you feel lost, confused, or struggle with unbelief, please use this as a reference. Call on The Lord and watch Him show up. He knows your heart, so you don't have to be fancy with your words or know what to say - simply call out to I AM and watch Him become what you need! Keep pressing. Your labor is not in vain.

Check yourself!

I want to write a little about our intentions / desires / and goals. Have you ever had a dream or desire that was so awesome, you just knew it came from the Lord? After all His Word does say that He would give His children the desires of their hearts. So why is it not happening? What are you doing wrong? What can you do to make it better? Matthew 6:33 says: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. The previous verse (Matthew 6:32) says that God already knows your needs before you ask Him. And the following verse says we are to take no thought about tomorrow, it has its own issues. Psalm 37:4 says: Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. So what do we know so far: God knows the desires of our hearts God knows our needs before we ask So what keeps us from attaining our desires or goals?
