Redirection: From Pain to Purpose

One of the best techniques used for children when they are upset or angry is redirection. I am no expert but I can recall when I had a family child care business as a young mother in Germany, we were taught that redirection was a tool we could use to calm the anxious child or comfort the sad infant. As children of GOD, I strongly believe that the LORD uses this same strategy today. When we are on the verge of being swallowed up in grief, sadness, or anything which is opposite of the joy we should have, He will redirect our attention to what is true, kind, just, pure, lovely, and good. In Philippians 4:8 the apostle Paul exhorts the church: “Finally, my brothers and sisters, always think about what is true. Think about what is noble, right and pure. Think about what is lovely and worthy of respect. If anything is excellent or worthy of praise, think about those kinds of things (NIV).” This can be a life-saving concept because so many people are hurting and feel they cannot see their way...

Who is the LORD? Yahweh. I AM. Jehovah.

May our eyes see, our ears hear and our hearts receive the Word of the LORD. We must return to Our Creator before His Son Jesus Christ returns. The time is shorter than when we first heard of His return more than 2  millennia ago. He does not want any person to perish or be eternally separated from Him, but all who ignore His call to return and all who mock Him will surely see that His Word cannot lie! He will be a refuge to those who choose Him, and a terror to those who reject His salvation. He is a firm foundation for those who trust in Him, but a rock of offense to those who refuse.  As nations have come and gone, so will all of us in the earth, but our souls will live on forever. How we respond to His call will determine if we are eternally with Him, or eternally separated.  Come to the LORD  while there is still time. Since He created time, we cannot control it, so make your salvation sure today! Creator. GOD. King of kings. LORD of lords. For by Him all things...

Jewels in the Rubble: Lessons Learned in Trials & Tribulation

This was written in May when a very personal loss disrupted my rest and peace. It is in these moments that we can really see if what we share with others is what we truly believe! An exhortation to myself in a very low valley. May the LORD allow it to comfort and encourage anyone who needs to hear it in this season. Like King David said, we have to encourage ourselves in the LORD (1 Samuel 30:6) What am I missing here...what is the lesson?  I am stronger than this, better than this, more prepared than I appear to be. Why is this hitting me so hard and why am I allowing dust (mankind) to dictate how I feel?! The devil is a LIAR!  (John 8:44 GWT) ..."The devil was a murderer from the beginning. He has never been truthful. He doesn’t know what the truth is. Whenever he tells a lie, he’s doing what comes naturally to him. He’s a liar and the father of lies." GOD is my refuge and strength ; a very present help in the time of trouble! (Jeremiah 16:19) HE WILL FIGHT FOR ME! ...
