Eternity Awaits: Are You Ready?

The last three weeks have been unforgettable. Someone very close to my family had to have a below the calf leg amputation to save their life. The doctor explained that in less than 2 days, they would have surely been dead due to the rate at which the flesh-eating bacteria was spreading. Sepsis had set in unless GOD had shown mercy, this may have very well been a post about their death. But GOD showed mercy and made it possible for them to receive care from a specialist within the field (who was the only specialist within a 4-5 state radius), and though they lost a limb, they will live. I am grateful. Interesting enough, this same person had visited my son and I just two weeks prior and visited our church. I asked if they were saved, and jokingly they responded that they were saved on Sundays, but don't let Jesus come Monday-Saturday. I shook my head not knowing what would happen just just two weeks.  Then, this past Sunday my pastor, Dr. Rod Parsley gave a sermon that certain...

Gratitude In The Season of Grief: A Grateful Heart

Gratitude. "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."  - 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Being grateful in difficult and uncertain circumstances may seem like a tall order from an insensitive optimist, but it is indeed a refuge and comfort to fix our minds on Jehovah, Yahweh, I AM. When we give all of our cares and concerns to the Creator, our minds can rest. He never sleeps nor slumbers and He desires that we would come to Him instead of trying to solve the issue on our own. We know that following Christ does not exempt us from trials and tribulations, but we are assured that in every season whether good or bad, joyful or full of mourning, we have a Helper, Counselor, Comforter, and Friend. We are not alone.  We are not abandoned or left without help. We as the children of GOD should be able to see with our spiritual eyes that we need to keep our minds on what matters the most. While distractions seem to meet us at every turn, we are being...

Redeemed for Purpose

Distractions abound in our society, and if we are not careful with the tools and resources we have fashioned to make our lives easier they can quickly morph into weapons of our own destruction.  Little foxes destroy the vine  (Song of Songs 2:15). Don’t ever underestimate the enemy, or  the power we have as children of the Most High God.  Jesus Christ gave us the  keys to the kingdom  and we can possess what belongs to us if we are paying attention! Like the steering wheel of a vehicle, our lives require small yet consistent corrections to ensure we do not crash. Even if we are driving on a straight path, the steering wheel can veer off easily if left unattended. “The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing” - Steven Covey Thankfully, we have the Word of GOD and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to show us the way and light up the path.  If we are willing and obedient, we are assured to eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). This is a powe...

Calling All Prodigals: A Letter from Your Heavenly Father

A Letter from Your Heavenly Father. To My Beloved How long will you stand afar off? How long will you refuse to face what is already obvious? You belong to me. Please return home.  You do not need to prove anything to me or anyone else, for I know your heart.  Only return, repent and we can begin a new journey.  I have so many plans for you, and so much I want to share, but I need you to come close.  Relationships are the pulse of my connection to mankind. I am not only your Creator, if you allow me I can be your Father. I AM I AM. The abyss that you feel within will never be fulfilled. You can never replace what I have for you with what you think is best for you.  You are limited.  I am infinite.  You are flawed.  I am complete. You mean much more to me than you can comprehend.  Won’t you come home, won’t you restore what we have, won’t you turn from your profitless works? I have so much more I want to say but I need you to come closer. Come...

God's Word is true. Do you have what it takes to possess your Promised Land?

The children of Israel were tried, proved, and taken into the wilderness. This time in their lives was not permanent, but most of them had the mindset that it was. This caused them to prolong their time in the wilderness and delay their promise. The Lord never intended for their transitional period to become their home for 40 years.  How many of us get stuck in transitions? We must understand that our promised land includes all of the promises that we are seeking from God but have yet to possess. Possessing our promises requires diligence, obedience and war. Joshua led the children of Israel in many battles. But we also see the children of Israel losing battles where there was disobedience towards God.  There is a purpose in the battle.  So many times we want to possess financial freedom, healing, strength, joy, peace, and all the other promises given to us through Jesus Christ; but these promises come with a battle. We battle our forme...
